Happy Final Space Friday Sorry for the late update, been on airplanes all day. I don’t think I’ve had a real nights sleep in like 5 days haha I’m so wiped so I’ll post some pages maybe tomorrow but thought it would be cool to post Daz’s reaction to reading Part 8. So writing is done…for the most part. I mean is it ever really done? We’ll be punching it up as we see the completed pages come in and how the lettering makes it read. Just as much as we can until times up. But the ending is written. 100% emotionally freeing to say goodbye to the characters. Part 8 is now in Daz’s hands to begin inking, he’s thumbed it to be about 62 pages. He’s read it and said “It’s Perfect.” Now I don’t know if it’s perfect but to me that means he felt the feeling I wanted him to feel, closure. So where are we at? I feel like we’re getting close and yet we have still a bunch to do. We’re on the downward slope. After Noah finishes Part 7 and Chiara finishes Part 5. The only inking left is Part 8. In this short window, I’ve decided to write a prologue this will be a blend of graphic pages I had laying around that I had Daz do and just writing…this will center around Invictus. So while I wait for Part 8 might as well add a bit more. Now coloring is we’re falling a little behind and I have 5 colorist on different chapters, now. My guess is the coloring might bleed into end of 2024 to top of 2025. It’s hard to gauge especially when my colorist are juggling other projects. I’m continuing to hiring where I can find colorist to speed this up however I start running the risk of continuity issues. So it’s a wrinkle I’m trying to figure out. So the deadline for pre-order will be extended for the color edition. I need to figure out when it will officially be, again I’ll announce in a video. The next date will be the final warning however, I’ve given two warning cut offs so the next will be the cut off for the pre-orders on the color. Can you still buy it after the deadline? Yes, however at that point it’s all stock based meaning once the stock runs out that’s it, that’s all. No more. Done. Gone. Unless I get a license to print more after the first pressing but all my contacts are gone from Warner, I have no idea if I can pull that off. This means the midnight edition will be the first out to printing since it’s just Black and White. It also means the cut off for pre-order of this one will be before the full color. The moment Daz is done I’m cutting it off, I have him the deadline of Halloween. I’m going to be placing the order for these this year. My goal is use the midnight edition as a test reader as well. So if there are things that can be improved on I can make those adjustments for the full color. I’m going to enlist a few of my Patreon members to be the test readers. Am I happy with the ending? Yes. Very much yes. It will hit you in the heart, it did with me. I think with the format of a graphic novel it’s the best I could do. Sure, there’s things I wish I could extend or sit with longer or even see animated but if I make it any longer I’m not sure the binding will hold haha Once I place the order it will take months to print and ship to me. And then I have to figure out the next wrinkle of shipping everything out and signing. If I think about that now though I start to stressed out haha so I’m focusing one day at a time, and just finishing this. So lots to do but we’re really getting there, I think it looks REALLY REALLY GOOD! Alright enjoy your weekend! More soon! -
