Happy Final Space Friday I’m about 90% done with the color correction and zazz pass on the color print file. After that it heads to proofing where we catch last little things like missing text bubbles or eyebrows on characters. Yes...somehow both Daz and I have missed a few eyebrows. Stare at the pages long enough and it happens. We’ve been fixing any page that feels off as a whole. Not surprisingly Part 1 needed the a bit of attention since it was the first one we worked on and our main colorist had to leave mid-way. I brought in someone new fast, but the style shift was noticeable. The pages were fine and could have gone in, but I knew it would bug me every time. And then I would have of told my wife I should have re-did those 9 billion times in every car ride we have haha. I wanted it moodier and more colorful. So after a late night of me describing it again, Daz did a pass and the difference was night and day. The Gary walking montage with the QR code song finally feels like what I imagined. At this point I might be losing my mind coloring the same pages three times, but that zazz, that’s what makes it feel like Final Space. Getting really close now. Hoping to finish this weekend if I don't run into any major things we need to fix.
